Trouble finding a park at Curtin shops?

Trouble finding a park at Curtin shops?

We’ve heard that it can be difficult to find parking at Curtin shops.

This might be about to get more difficult.

Wesley Mission has lodged a Development Application (DA no. 202543965) to build 99 apartments on Martin St, across Theodore St from Curtin shops.

Affordable housing is welcome, and there is strong community support for housing on this site. However, only 42 car parking spaces are proposed for the 83 affordable rental apartments in the development. This is well below the expected needs of residents and fails to meet the 126 spaces required by the ACT’s planning standards.

Without adequate parking residents of these apartments will be forced to park in surrounding streets and at the Curtin shops, further exacerbating existing parking pressures for all those who use the shops.

It is not too late to have your say!

  1. Provide a personal response to the DA by 30 May 2025 (see How to make comment)
  2. Fill out our parking survey: curtinparkingsurvey by 28 May
